Laying the Foundation...
When Gerald P. Cox and J.R. Garrett, Jr founded Autumn
Corporation in 1979, they brought to the business much
more than five decades of experience as administrators
in the health care industry and individual talents as
accountants and business men. They brought a signature
of quality and commitment which is unmistakably written
upon each and every Autumn facility in the company's
ever-growing service area.
Their first task was to attract a management team of
experienced, dedicated professionals who perceived their
job functions as much more than just that of
administrator, nurse, counselor or dietary service
director. The founders wanted a team built upon a
foundation of experience, vision and impeccable
character; one whose trademark was basic human
understanding
Today the management team has long been established, and
from its headquarters in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, it
directs the daily operation of dozens of long-term
health care facilities.
One glance at our mission statement reveals the true
character of Autumn. In it, we proudly note our
commitment to preserve the dignity of the individual
while attending to the physical, mental, emotional and
spiritual needs of our guests. We further pledge to
provide a safe, healthy environment for each of our
residents and constantly seek means of improving our
services, facilities and general care.
